Staying hydrated is not only required for overall health but it also maintains fresh breath. Water helps wash away food particles and bacteria that can lead to bad breath.

Our body constitutes 60 to 70 % of water. A person weighing 20 kilogram requires one liter of water, hence a person weighing 70 kilogram should consume 3 and half liter of water. . Two to three glasses of water first thing in the morning acts as a most effective laxative. Further medical research states that regular intake of water helps in alleviating dyspeptic pain like gastritis, duodenitis and heartburn. Water assists the body in removing the byproducts of fat and suppresses appetite thus limiting food intake.

However one has to be alert if he or she is thirsty all the times. This could be due to diabetes probably type 1, or dehydration where body is losing fluid through sweating. Further some medications and particularly for hypertension can also make you thirsty.
